Founded by ex-Downton Engineering staff member Dave Dorrington in 1971, Maniflow are the most respected and experienced Mini exhaust manufacturers in the industry today. Their range of products includes something for everyone, from the original Freeflow manifold through to full-blown competition manifolds and systems. |

Note: The fitment of some of these manifolds and systems may result in the deletion of the catalytic converter from cars originally so equipped. Owners contemplating the removal of the catalytic converter on a road going Mini should check their local regulations before doing so; for example on Minis in the UK facing the annual MOT test it may be possible to delete the catalytic converter on the earlier carburetter models, but it certainly isn't on injection models. |

Freeflow Manifold |
|
|
|
The original direct replacement for original 1961-71 Cooper and Cooper S manifolds, the Freeflow design may be fitted to any road-use Mini but is most ideally suited for engines below 1275cc. It is shorter than the LCB designs and therefore there's no risk of hitting the centre tunnel on the floor. |

LCB Manifolds |
|
|
|
The long centre branch (LCB) manifold is generally regarded as the most efficient Mini manifold. Standard bore assemblies are usually for road going cars, whereas the large bore assembly is really for use on competition cars and very large capacity engines only. The Stage II manifold is derived from the types used on Mini Miglia and historic competition cars. |

If you wish to retain your original cast iron manifold but would like to install a Maniflow or RC40 exhaust system, you will need a downpipe to fit between the two. All downpipes have a 1 7/8" outlet ext. dia., 1 3/4" int. dia. Note that the HIF carb type downpipe LD068C has no oxygen sensor boss and therefore assumes that you are deleting the catalytic converter from your car; it may be specially ordered with the boss if required. |

This one's rather special - made for Somerford Mini by the original supplier to Special Tuning, it is a faithful reproduction of the later oval-ended rear box type (the earlier crimp-ended box can no longer be made) exhaust system fitted to the all-conquering Minis campaigned by the BMC/BL Competitions Department in the 1960s and 70s. |

Much beloved by the Historic Racing fraternity because of its originality, it includes two resonators followed by a large rear box and upswept centre tail pipe. The system fits very closely indeed to the car body and is completely flat underneath: there's nothing to get knocked off because the pipes are flush to the undersides of the resonators and rear box. |

The best known road-use exhaust systems amongst Mini enthusiasts, the classic RC40 design comes in twin or single box configurations to fit non-catalyst or catalyst equipped Mini saloons (note that RC40 systems do not fit Traveller, Clubman Estate, Van or Pick Up models). The external pipe diameter of the RC40 is 1 3/4". All listed boxes and tail pipes mount to the car using the pre-1992 rubber block intermediate mounting and 'bobbin' type rubber rear mounting. |

The RC40 twin box system very closely resembles the original Cooper, Cooper S and 1275 GT systems and as such makes a very appropriate, easy to fit alternative for those models. |
|

|
|
|
The single box and twin box RC40 systems listed here will fit onto a Freeflow or standard bore LCB manifold, or one of the downpipes listed above. However, note that depending on which manifold or downpipe is used, the coupling sleeve on the end of the RC40 front pipe may have to be trimmed off to fit. The catalytic converter on Minis so equipped would be deleted if using either of these two complete systems - please check your local regulations for road use of a car with the catalyst removed. |
