Headlamp Assemblies
Rationalising all the different headlamp assemblies used over the 41 years of Mini production is not easy - if we listed them all, it would take a page to do it! What we have tried to do here is to show a reasonable spread of the assemblies fitted to most cars in most countries. However, certain countries at the time required different lenses, bulb colour or headlamp power, and some of these local regulations are still in place today. We can source and supply some of the other variations of headlamp assembly if required, but our general advice for those seeking assemblies not shown here is to purchase the lens, bulb or unit locally in your own country if possible.
Headlamp assemblies without pilot bulbs (i.e. not including side lamps) are for Riley, Wolseley and Clubman models, plus Minis in some countries where regulations required the side lamp to be combined with the indicator rather than the headlamp.

H4 Halogen Type (1990 on; RHD and LHD)
If you are considering fitting uprated bulbs, it would be wise to install a relay circuit (if the car doesn't already have one) to protect wiring and switches which weren't originally designed to cope with that sort of current running through them. The same can be said, incidentally, of additional driving lamps controlled through the headlamp switchgear. Note also that uprated bulbs are illegal for road use in some countries.

H4 Halogen Conversion Kits
One of the very best improvements you can make to your Mini - the difference in performance over sealed beam and tungsten lamps is astonishing. If you rate vastly improved night vision above original appearance of your car, an H4 conversion kit is definitely for you. These kits contain two light units, pilot bulb holders and wiring (where applicable), plus standard bulbs. The light units are the Wipac 'Quadoptic' type, as fitted as original equipment on 1990's Minis. For replacement parts, please refer to the 'H4 Halogen Type' listing above. Note that VUB100250 includes original fitment (1997 on) light units with superior plastic reflectors.
