Seat Pan and Rear Floor Assembly
Rationally, there were 4 basic rear floor designs, with detail variations of each. The brackets and fixings for the Cooper boot floor board or the optional RH fuel tank may be purchased separately.
1959-67: Fuel tank support channel above boot floor, long angle bracket with tank securing nut under floor, wide rear valance closing panels and spare wheel mounting boss.
1967-75: Fuel tank support channel above boot floor, tank securing weld nut under floor, narrow rear valance closing panels, bump stop reinforcements added, no spare wheel mounting boss (except very early MkIIs which had the boss - purchase if necessary). Eventually seat braces rationalised down to one item, fitted with rear seat belt mounting points whether rear seat belts fitted or not.

1976-94: New fuel tank mounting system, with piercings added later for SPi fuel injection models (plug or use as appropriate). ‘Rotodip’ hole in seat brace panel later deleted. Rear seat belt mountings and reinforcements eventually standardised for all markets.

1994 on: Further piercings for fuel injection system; windscreen washer bottle bracket moved to RH rear wheel arch - no space left in the engine compartment!

Rear Seat Belt Mounting Kit
In order to fit rear seat belts to pre-1995 Minis not already so equipped, mounting points will have to be fitted. Somerford Mini takes the strain out of working out what needs to be welded to the car's body with this money-saving kit including all required original factory mounting brackets (seat brace sides x 2, seat brace centre and C post x 2). Use of these brackets enables two rear seat belts to be fitted without the need to alter or change interior trim in the rear of your Mini.
